Job Description:

Speech-Language Pathologist

Summary:
Provide speech and language services for students (preschool–12th grade) with a variety of communication disorders. This is an itinerant role requiring travel to multiple school sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate communication disorders (language, articulation, voice, fluency, neuromuscular, and non-vocal) and document results.
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and treatment plans.
  • Deliver direct therapy in general and special education settings.
  • Consult with teachers, families, medical professionals, and community agencies to support students.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education laws, due process requirements, and district policies.
  • Organize caseloads, document services (including third-party billing), and collaborate as a member of educational teams.
  • Promote cultural competence and equity in all interactions.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • ASHA CCCs (or Clinical Fellowship Year) and valid Florida ESA certification.
  • Experience working with students with diverse disabilities; preferred experience with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple sites/caseloads, and communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
Other Requirements:
  • Pass criminal background check and maintain valid ESA certification.
  • Ability to meet physical demands (light lifting, sitting/standing, frequent travel between sites).
