Summary:
Provide occupational therapy services to students (preschool–12th grade) with disabilities to support their access to education and independence within the least restrictive environment. This is an itinerant role requiring travel to multiple school sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate student skills, classroom environments, and barriers impacting educational participation using standardized assessments and clinical observations.
Write comprehensive evaluation reports and participate in multidisciplinary IEP team meetings.
Develop and implement therapy intervention plans using direct service, consultation, and collaboration models.
Modify environments and provide assistive technology supports as needed.
Train and consult with teachers, paraeducators, and families to embed strategies in daily routines.
Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in service delivery.
Qualifications:
Degree in Occupational Therapy, National Board Certification (NBCOT), and valid Washington State OT license.
Preferred: Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certification (or ability to obtain within one year).
Ability to work independently, manage itinerant schedule, and lift/move up to 30 lbs (occasionally up to 57 lbs with assistance).
Additional Requirements:
Pass criminal background check and maintain professional licensure.
Demonstrate cultural competence and commitment to equity with students, staff, and families.
