Registered Nurse (RN) - Days (Mon-Fri)

AvaMed Workforce is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 6-month contract at Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad, CA (Medical, 8-hour shifts, 2 weeks of orientation).

Assignment details

• Location: Salinas Valley State Prison, Soledad, CA
• Dates: 11/16/2026 - 05/16/2027
• Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM (Days), 30-minute meal
• Orientation: 2 weeks

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and deliver nursing care for patients
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered and document in the EHR
• Monitor patients and escalate changes in condition to providers
• Support sick call, clinic flow and provider visits
• Follow all safety, security and contraband procedures

Requirements

• Active California RN license (BRN)
• Current BLS (AHA)
• CDCR or Cerner experience (per the facility)
• Correctional or acute care experience preferred
• Background check and facility security clearance
• TB test, immunizations and facility health clearances
