AvaMed Workforce is hiring a Psychologist, LCSW, LMFT or LPCC (PSYL) for a contract at High Desert State Prison in Susanville, CA (Mental Health STRT, Tuesday-Friday days).

Assignment details

• Location: High Desert State Prison, Susanville, CA
• Dates: 12/28/2026 - 05/03/2027
• Schedule: Tuesday-Friday, 7:30 AM-5:30 PM
• Unit: Mental Health STRT (MHPC)

Responsibilities

• Provide mental health assessment, individual and group therapy, and crisis intervention for the incarcerated patient population
• Serve as a mental health primary clinician and maintain accurate documentation
• Collaborate with psychiatry, nursing and custody staff on treatment plans
• Follow all safety, security and contraband procedures

Requirements

• Active California license as a Psychologist (Board of Psychology), or LCSW, LMFT or LPCC (Board of Behavioral Sciences)
• Current BLS
• Correctional, forensic or inpatient behavioral health experience preferred
• Background check and facility security clearance
• TB test, immunizations and facility health clearances
