AvaMed Workforce is hiring a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for a weekend contract at Mule Creek State Prison in Ione, CA (Mental Health STRT, serving as an LCSW for the MHPC program).

Assignment details

• Location: Mule Creek State Prison, Ione, CA
• Dates: 11/30/2026 - 06/21/2027
• Schedule: Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM or 6:00 AM-4:00 PM
• Training: 1 week, Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
• Unit: Mental Health STRT (MHPC)

Responsibilities

• Provide mental health assessment, individual and group therapy, and crisis intervention for the incarcerated patient population
• Serve as a mental health primary clinician and maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Collaborate with psychiatry, psychology, nursing and custody staff on treatment plans
• Follow all safety, security and contraband procedures

Requirements

• Active California LCSW license (Board of Behavioral Sciences)
• Current BLS
• Correctional, forensic or inpatient behavioral health experience preferred
• Background check and facility security clearance
• TB test, immunizations and facility health clearances
