Pharmacy Technician (PHTEC) - Full-Time Days - CDCR Central Fill Pharmacy

AvaMed Workforce is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician (PHTEC) for a contract at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Central Fill Pharmacy in Sacramento, CA. Central Fill Pharmacy prepares, packages, and dispenses prescription medications for inpatient and outpatient patients across 31 CDCR institutions, centralizing high-volume dispensing for the state's correctional facilities.

Assignment details

• Location: CDCR Central Fill Pharmacy, Sacramento, CA
• Dates: 11/30/2026 - 06/07/2027
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM (30-minute meal)

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily pharmacy workflows in a high-volume central fill operation
• Prepare and package prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
• Manage pharmaceutical and drug supply inventory and maintain strict inventory logs
• Follow all safety, security and controlled-substance procedures

Requirements

• Active California Pharmacy Technician license (California State Board of Pharmacy)
• Pharmacy technician experience; correctional, institutional or high-volume pharmacy experience preferred
• Background check and CDCR security clearance
• TB test, immunizations and facility health clearances
