AvaMed Workforce is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) for a 6-month day-shift contract at Pelican Bay State Prison in Crescent City, CA (Medical, 8-hour shifts, 2 weeks of orientation).

Assignment details

• Location: Pelican Bay State Prison, Crescent City, CA
• Dates: 11/30/2026 - 05/30/2027
• Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM (Days), 30-minute meal
• Orientation: 2 weeks

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and support nursing care under the direction of an RN
• Take and record vital signs, obtain specimens and document care accurately
• Support clinic flow, patient rounds and provider visits
• Follow all safety, security and contraband procedures

Requirements

• Valid California CNA certificate (CDPH) or Medical Assistant certification
• Current BLS (AHA)
• Correctional or acute care experience preferred
• Background check and facility security clearance
• TB test, immunizations and facility health clearances
