Pharmacy Technician (PHTEC) - Days, 3 Days/Week - Ironwood State Prison

AvaMed Workforce is hiring a Pharmacy Technician (PHTEC) for a 6-month contract at Ironwood State Prison, a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) state prison in Blythe, CA (Medical, 8-hour shifts).

Assignment details

• Location: Ironwood State Prison, Blythe, CA
• Dates: 11/23/2026 - 05/23/2027
• Schedule: 3 days per week, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM (30-minute meal); listed as Monday-Wednesday, any 3 days between Monday and Friday
• Orientation: 2 weeks, dates to be determined

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package and label medications under pharmacist supervision
• Maintain pharmaceutical inventory and accurate records
• Support medication delivery to clinics and housing units
• Follow all safety, security and controlled-substance procedures

Requirements

• Active California Pharmacy Technician license (California State Board of Pharmacy)
• Pharmacy technician experience; correctional, institutional or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Background check and CDCR security clearance
• TB test, immunizations and facility health clearances
