AvaMed Workforce is hiring two Registered Nurses (RN) for 6-month contracts at High Desert State Prison (HDSP), a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) state prison in Susanville, CA (Medical, 8-hour day shifts).

• Dates: 11/23/2026 - 05/30/2027 (6-month assignment)
• Shift: Days, 5:45 AM-2:15 PM (8 hours, 30-minute meal)

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing assessments, treatments and medication administration for incarcerated patients
• Respond to medical needs and emergencies and coordinate with providers
• Document care accurately in the facility's health record
• Follow all custody, safety and security procedures

Requirements

• Active California Registered Nurse license (California Board of Registered Nursing)
• Current BLS certification
• Acute, medical or correctional nursing experience; correctional experience preferred
• Background check and CDCR security clearance
• TB test, immunizations and facility health clearances
